I have always found it beautiful to discover those magical intersections where the teachings of Lao Tzu’s Tao and the mindfulness wisdom of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh embrace each other to guide us toward true happiness.
In the Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu extends a powerful invitation for our daily lives: to place our absolute attention on whatever we are doing in the present moment, and once it is done, to simply stop. Without overthinking. Without resistance. Without complaints.
More often than not, we complicate our lives by trying to control everything, anticipating the future, or seeking the approval of others. We burden ourselves with mental baggage that exhausts us before the day even ends. It is precisely there, by stepping onto the path of full awareness, that we reclaim our clarity and free ourselves from useless suffering.
Let us breathe in the here and now.
By practicing this path of presence, we do not struggle. And it is a profound truth: to struggle is to invite resistance. And when we resist what is, we create tension in both our body and our mind.
Sometimes we forget that the peace we seek is much easier to reach than we think. If you simply pause, inhale, and exhale in the here and now—just as Master Thich Nhat Hanh invites us to do—the noise of the world fades away.
Starting the day rushing, checking your phone, and with a mind already cluttered with tasks is an invitation to that daily struggle. In contrast, right and fluid action is born from a mind that knows how to focus and find calm right from the morning. Adding haste and tension only complicates your day.
Begin your mornings from a place of awareness.
As a result of many years managing our center and what I shared in my book, I know that mindfulness is not just theory: it is a living practice that completely transforms how you experience your life.
Therefore, I want to invite you to change the way you awaken your days:
🧘♀️ Join our Morning Mindfulness Classes A sacred space at the beginning of the day to learn how to design your own daily routine of internal, physical, and mental practices.
